Indian Garden Restaurant & Bar (Pattaya)
Personal Verdict: 3.25/5.00
I was on my vacation in Pattaya sometime back. I tried to explore the place in & around my hotel Sunshine Garden Resort, first thing in the morning after check-in. I found this place near my hotel.
The restaurant is fairly spacious, could seat about 75 pax at one go, very average in ambience & atmosphere, no music being played. They have Buffet and Ala-Carte Service, both. We opted for Buffet Lunch that had veg & non-veg items, but veg items variety is more. There is only one non-veg dish being kept in buffet, which changes everyday. During my first visit on first day of landing in Pattaya, there was Butter Chicken and on second day, there was Methi Chicken… Very nice Chicken on both days, very soft, very juicy… Rice quality was bad. Other veg food was okay. One Indian desert is kept everyday. We had Suji Halwa and Gajar Halwa during my 2 visits.
There are wooden tables & chairs, and all pillars have big notices written “If table is broken, the guests occupying the tables shall be liable to pay 15,000 Baht”. This kind of notice is very strange to me !
Buffet Lunch or Dinner is priced @ 250 THB per head. Reasonable, I would say. Since I was always going for buffet, I didn’t bother the check the prices of individual dishes. So, all Ala-Carte guys, can’t help you… Sorry !
Overall, I think because Pattaya doesn’t have too many Indian restaurants, this one seems to be doing well. I don’t see extra efforts being put by the staff to create great impression, say in terms of hospitality or quickness in service etc. May be they know that Indians will find it difficult to resist their home food and will pay a visit atleast once. So, the averageness. But Chicken was good. Hence, my second visit here 🙂
