Atithi Bamboo Restaurant: Super Malvani Food…
All of us MBA batchmates (8 of us) had come on a short vacation of 3 days & 2 nights in Malvan. The first day of our outing here, post our check in hotel, we were extremely hungry and were eagerly looking forward to the authentic local food (read typical Malvani Food in served in Thali). So, if you are in Konkan belt of Maharashtra, you are bound to expect some great fish curry & rice. I, for one, didn’t want my first meal in Malvan to be a dampener.

Upon word-of-mouth recommendation from locals, we went in Atithi Bamboo restaurant. It was jam packed but we got seats in quick time, after waiting for about 15 minutes. The best thing to order here, is any seafood starters and then opt for Thali, whether Surmai or Bangda or Prawns, along with cold Sol Kadi (a must-try local drink, pink in colour, pretty much like buttermilk)
Awesome taste & quality of Malvani food, prompt service inspite of the restaurant being full, reasonable pricing (INR 350 per plate). The restaurant ambiance and atmosphere is very ordinary, slightly better than that of a college mess but that’s not important sometimes, when you are with friends to enjoy the moments & when you are extremely hungry.
We were in Malvan for 3 days and tried different cuisines at different restaurants but the Malvani food was the best for me. Extremely happy & satisfied with the food served.
Personal Verdict: 4.00/5.00
